Today you will arrive in Romania and we will be waiting for you at the airport.
From there we will leave towards Gura Humorului, situated around 400 km away and on the way we will stop to stretch our legs at the Targu Ocna salt mine where we will check out the mine, breathe some fresh salty air, take a tour inside the mine and enjoy its amenities.
In the evening we will arrive at Gura Humorului where we will have dinner and spend the night.
Today we will learn about Stephen the Great (Stefan cel Mare) by visiting some of the monasteries and eat lunch at one of them where the nuns cook some of the tastiest dishes.
Today we will also visit the Bison Reserve.
In the afternoon, we will return to Gura Humorului where we will spend the rest of the day and the night.
Similar to day 2, today we will visit a few monasteries and see their unique colors and check out their unique history.
The monasteries we will be visiting today include: Voronet Monasatery with its unique color called Voronet Blue, Putna Monastery, the resting place of one of the most important, if not the most important ruler of Moldavia, Stephen the Great.
Today, we will leave Gura Humorului and continue our journey further north to Viseul de Sus, a beautiful place filled with history and culture.
On our way there, we will have a walk through the forest to the Horses Waterfall, considered one of the most beautiful in Romania due to the whole experience of getting there by cable car and journey through the forest.
We will have dinner in Viseul de Sus where we will also spend the night.
Today, you will spend the first part of the day in the famous Mocanita steam train that will take you on a journey through the scenic mountains.
After this ride, we will continue our journey towards Colibita, where we will embark on a boat ride on Colibita Lake and after that spend the rest of the day in nature, breathing fresh air and relaxing.
We will spend the night here at Colibita.
On this day, we will start our journey towards the medieval city of Sighisoara.
In this journey we will stop and visit Turda Salt Mine where we will go deep inside the Earth and spend some fun time inside, breathe some salt rich air, enjoy a boat ride on the salt lake inside the mine, ride the Ferris wheel and play some golf.
Lunch and the second part of the day will be spent in Sighisoara where a short visit at Sighisoara Citadel is a must. For those who are willing, a short staircase climb to the Church on the Hill’s tower is the perfect way to get a nice view over the city of Sighisoara.
Until dinnertime, you will be free to roam around this medieval city.
The night we will be spent here.
Today, we will travel from one medieval city to another, in this case, Sibiu.
On our way there we will visit Biertan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a historic monument built in the 15th century, an architectural masterpiece.
Once we reach Sibiu we will visit the main landmarks of the city such as the Citadel and the History Museum.
After this we will have lunch and then you will enjoy a free afternoon to roam around the streets of this medieval city, do some shopping, take lots of pictures, call it in early or just relax all afternoon at a coffee shop or at the place where we will spend the night.
We will travel towards Brasov and on the way our stops will be at Rupea Citadel, lunch in Bran where we will also visit the infamous Dracula’s Castle where you will be taken back in time to Vlad the Impaler’s era and check out the way he lived and some of the things that he did that made him the inspiration for Bran Stoker’s book, Dracula.
In the afternoon we will take a stroll around Brasov where we will also have dinner and spend the night.
Today we will visit Peles Castle, one of the most beautiful castles in Romania and home to the royal family.
From there we will continue our journey to the capital of Romania, Bucharest, where we will spend the afternoon visiting the old town, the Romanian Peasant’s Musem and the take some pictures at the House of Parliament.
In the evening we will check out the nightlife in the old town.
Today is a free day where you can do some shopping, spend time relaxing in the Old Town or check out the parks close by.
